Sometime in 2008, LG - then an acquaintance from the Trunks x Goten forums (where SG2 was a co-admin) - had started his own Dragonball forum and asked SG2 to help out with administrative things. This forum, called Your Dragonball (YDB for short), experienced a revival in activity around the time that IGNO had gotten slow. At some point the main active YDB members (LG, xL, PWR, Hamel, and eventually Tim) all joined IGNO as well, and the IGNO-style humor seeped into YDB as well. It got to the point where it was hard to remember which conversations took place on which board, and when YDB was eventually retired some of its more prominent memes got adopted as honorary IGNO memes.
With so many new members joining all at once and posting frequently, 2009 became similar to 2007 as a period of high activity and memorable moments. This was also the time when IGNO got its first cbox, further expanding discussion possibilities. The RP elements solidified further, as well, and characters were finally being seen properly as characters in a fictional universe. By now, IGNO had really come into its own identity, a sign of further developments to come.
